It’s Free Music as in Liberated Music. I like that, it’s something relatively new on the web. Of course there are a lot of such services already but this one is really the one. I love it so much because it really finds everything I want (erm.. almost) and it also looks cool too. They use some kind of proprietary fuzzy logic technology with heuristics to determine music streams on the internet and they just let you play them. They identify streams where the song, album or artist you want is being broadcasted on demand, for free. They don’t really store the music and they don’t broadcast it either (meaning lots of content is plain free and with broadcasting liceses from third parties). This is pretty smart for them but it’s also pretty darn good for me since I finally can listen music in a jukebox style, not a radio style, online and for free. Hope they will not add paid memberships or anything. Also if you want to buy the songs, they provide direct links to iTunes and everything is just as easy. Joost videos and a lot of other content is provided there, including lyrics and band descriptions from Wikipedia, album art and they claim they have their own database of artist+album+song information so as to search and file streams according to human meaningful data. I think all people deserve to live healthy and eat natural food. The capitalist system is encouraging making money out of thin air and add to that global population growth, you get incapacity to produce enough for all people. What you get is a lot of poor people and a very few very rich people who eventually exploit the poor making more money from … more thin air. Food is scarce and artificial food is filling all supermarkets and all stores. Biologically tested and ensured products, also known as ecological products are now another reason for the rich folks to make money from the poor folks.

I know loosing weight has become a very concerning topic for all people, especially since food nowadays is not healthy yet very satiable. I have managed to loose some weight without much effort a few months ago and I fell very healthy and content with myself. No big effort, no pain, no nightmare. I just made it happen the easy way. Now, remember, I am no expert and I did not study too much “loose weight literature”, which in a way might have been exactly why I even managed to loose weight this easily. I think all this poisonous literature induces us a lot of anxiety and frustration and most of it teaches us only speculative crap with no real ground and no real results. That is why, my article here dedicated to this topic could be actually far better than other so called, specialized articles from specialists in the field.

The current project under which I am working is called for now… "The village Idiot", and it’s a videogame in Flash. It emphasizes on relaxing graphics and exploration, a nice story behind it and as usual it’s not an action game, but rather an adventure type.

The ideea came to me some years ago when I wanted to make this game in C++ using Allegro 2D programming library, but it came to pass that I didn’t have the time to make it and I found better things to do. But now, I stopped working in Flash for some months and I feel rusty so I have to begin doing this things agains because I was really good at doing them. It’s a 2D engine, really simple stuff, and so far I have no audio effects whatsoever, but it’s not going to be complicated to make some… the voices are hard to find, and of course some effects require elaborated production and recording, but, I’ll have to find the means to do them when the game is over.

Next, the graphics. I want beautyful graphics, but foremost, I want a story. I think about writting a book before I write this game, because I want the story te be very interesting. More to come … 

I just want to make a video-game. A nice something… Something original and quite smart.

I think I’ll use Flash, Java and some Director. I would like some suggestions on this. Please post some comments.

For now, I think I want to make a picture section on this weblog and also post some more technical articles on Java. There is a tough decision though, about making articles static pages or making them posts under a category?
